Medrasah
If the Karvansaray is the palace of encounter, the Medrasah is its workshop of knowledge and craft. Inspired by historic schools of learning along the Silk Roads, it is conceived as a place where guests and masters gather to share skills — from gastronomy and winemaking to ceramics and textiles — transforming hospitality into an act of making.
Set lightly within the Alentejo landscape, the Medrasah is defined by simple, robust geometries and quiet courtyards. Its stone walls rise silently from the ground, while the whitewashed tower — a contemporary echo of minarets and watchtowers — becomes both a landmark and a threshold.

Inside, daylight filters softly through framed apertures, creating spaces of concentration and intimacy that stand in dialogue with the vast horizon beyond.
Here, tradition meets experimentation: the architecture itself becomes a living testament to craftsmanship, rooting the experience of learning within the material culture of the land.
